No — you can book directly without a referral. Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). If you've been referred by your GP, we're happy to communicate findings back to them.
Your first appointment lasts 45–60 minutes, which allows time for a full case history, examination and your first treatment. Follow-up sessions are typically 30 minutes.
It depends on the condition and your individual response. We aim to keep the number of appointments to a minimum and your osteopath will discuss a realistic plan with you at your first visit.
Most osteopathic techniques are comfortable. Some soft-tissue work can feel intense in the moment. Temporary soreness can sometimes occur after treatment and usually settles within a day or two. Please contact us if symptoms are severe, worsening or persistent. Your osteopath will explain everything as you go and can adapt techniques to what you find comfortable.
Comfortable clothing you can move in. You may be asked to expose the area being treated, occasionally down to underwear — exactly as you would expect at any medical appointment. If you have any concerns, please let us know beforehand and we'll make alternative arrangements.
Absolutely. You're welcome to be accompanied by another adult for all or part of your treatment. Children should always be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Generally no, but in certain circumstances Taylor Osteopathy can arrange a home visit for patients in genuine need. An additional charge may apply — please call us to discuss.
Our clinic is in central Kettering (NN16 0DH). We regularly see patients from Corby, Wellingborough, Burton Latimer, Desborough, Rothwell and the villages in between. If you can drive to us in around 30 minutes, you're in our catchment — give us a call if you're not sure.
