Everything you wanted to ask, in plain English.

Still got a question? Call us on 01536 216223 — we'd rather chat for two minutes now than have you arrive uncertain.

No — you can book directly without a referral. Osteopaths are primary healthcare practitioners regulated by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). If you've been referred by your GP, we're happy to communicate findings back to them.

Your first appointment lasts 45–60 minutes, which allows time for a full case history, examination and your first treatment. Follow-up sessions are typically 30 minutes.

It depends on the condition and your individual response, but we aim to keep your number of appointments to a minimum. Most patients feel meaningful change within 2–4 sessions, and your osteopath will be honest with you about realistic expectations.

Most osteopathic techniques are comfortable. Some soft-tissue work can feel intense in the moment, and you may feel a little sore for 24–48 hours afterwards — this is a normal, healthy response. Your osteopath will explain everything as you go.

Comfortable clothing you can move in. You may be asked to expose the area being treated, occasionally down to underwear — exactly as you would expect at any medical appointment. If you have any concerns, please let us know beforehand and we'll make alternative arrangements.

Absolutely. You're welcome to be accompanied by another adult for all or part of your treatment. Children should always be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Our New Patient appointment is £65 (45–60 minutes), Follow-Up sessions are £60 (30 minutes), and a 60-minute Sports Massage is £80. See our Pricing page for full details — and we always confirm costs at booking.
